December Newsletter, 2022.
Good morning everybody.
Christmas is around the corner and we would like to wish you all a Blessed and Merry Christmas..
As for the previous month, well we saved two monkeys out of four. All with different problems. As you will see from the photo, the one monkey had terrible malnutrition and Oesteomalacia which is the same as Rickets, but just found in adult monkeys.I fetched the monkey and started treatment immediately but sadly it was just too late.
The other monkey on the helpline was doing well but had a heart attack. Just like us humans they can get all sorts of cardiac diseases or diabetes and even psychological problems such as self-clasping, misplaced aggression and self mutilation to name just a few.
Going into the last month of 2022 people must please organise good care for their animals whilst they are away. Crackers in New Year and all loud noises do stress animals. Their ears are much more sensitive than ours and they also rely on some different senses to ours.
This year we have also lost a lot of loved ones and we hope and pray that next year will be a lot better for all of us.
We were also able to help about six callers to re-home tortoises and 10 callers for advice on birds falling out of nests in rainy weather. We also tried to re-home dogs where people have emigrated or moved home. So November was quite a busy month!
Although we are primarily a rescue centre for small monkeys we still try to help with other animals by referring them to specialised organizations. If I see a dog hit by a car I will stop and help if I can, even if for example, I have to redirect traffic! (I am sure there are many people who would do the same).
Thank you to the community service children who helped us with the cages and paint. Thank you too to my teams who have voluntarily dedicated their lives to helping the monkeys at WPS. And thank you to everybody who has helped us in any way possible. We appreciate this immensely!
Lastly (and I know I am repeating myself) may you all have an amazing CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR. (And please don’t forget us over this time of the year.)

YOU LOSE HAIR LATER CAUSE YOU’RE BORN WITH ALMOST NO HAIR….
YOUR SKIN IS THIN AND SOFT THEN AND LATER IT BECOMES THE SAME AGAIN.
YOU’RE BORN WITHOUT MUCH SIGHT …..BUT YOU DIE WITHOUT MUCH SIGHT……
YOUR HEARING WAS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE …AND WHEN YOU’RE OLD …. it is NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE….
YOU USED TO BE IN NAPPIES WHEN YOU WERE BORN….. AND NOW ….WELL…..
… YOU will get MORE NAPPIES AGAIN!
YOU NEED SOFT FOODS WHEN YOU’RE SMALL …..AND NOW……IT IS THE SAME ALL OVER AGAIN. …
YOU FART AND YOU CANNOT CONTROL YOUR FART AND other things….
IT IS SAD FOR US HUMAN-BEINGS.
HOWEVER WE’RE STILL FREE FROM MOST THINGS….
IT IS A CHOICE TO SEE AND DECIDE AND DO WHAT WE SHOULD DO; TO BRING ABOUT to THOSE THAT CROSS OUR PATH.
AND AGAIN SO THAT is HOW WE BEGIN AND THAT is HOW WE WILL END.
SORRY THIS IS THE TRUTH FROM ME TO MANY A FRIEND.
