Late Newsletter: Apologies for the delay! As they say, better late than never. The weather and electricity haven’t exactly been on our side. Stolen cables, potholes… you name it, SA’s got it. We know many good people are leaving, but another country’s grass isn’t always greener.
The Good Stuff: Our wildlife’s one of the best (after South America and equatorial regions). Huge thanks to scholars helping us – we’re teaching the next gen to save animals, especially primates.
Did you know? Monkeys/apes share biological similarities with us (Wayne Macleod’s area of expertise). They get kidney failure, heart attacks, diabetes… just like us! Diet’s key for longevity.
Can anyone have monkeys? Nope. They need specialized care. Rumors of SA exporting them illegally are scary. Wayne doubts they’re eaten in China – cost’s too high.
The Bigger Picture: Habitat loss (vervets, baboons…) = trouble. Trees = oxygen. Houses = less trees. Let’s protect primates and their homes.
Thanks to all helpers! We appreciate it.
